Unity Healthcare is pleased to announce that William McCarthy, MD has joined Benton County Medical Center. Dr. McCarthy started seeing patients on September 15, 2009. We will be hosting a public open house on September 29th for the community to meet him and visit the updated facility.

Dr. McCarthy was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois. He currently resides in Sheldon, Illinois with his wife, Paula. Dr. McCarthy obtained his medical degree from Autonomous University of Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. He then completed a residency in Family Practice at the Rush-Christ Family Practice Program in Chicago, Illinois. He has been in private practice in Illinois since 1981.

Dr. McCarthy is Board Certified in Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. McCarthy enjoys providing comprehensive family care to patients of all ages.

In his spare time, he enjoys gardening and spending time with his family.

Dr. McCarthy will be fully participating in the many health plans, which Unity Healthcare currently participates.
